Miraflores, November 30, 2021.- Students from Markham College held virtual workshops for students from public schools in vulnerable areas of Lima to help reduce school dropout rates.
With the aim of bringing fresh water to areas with scarce resources, students at Markham College had the initiative to create a fog catcher project, implemented in the human settlement Ampliación El Trébol, Pamplona Alta sector, in the San Juan de Miraflores district.
In 2018, for the first time ever, the S4 Leaders Training Trip took place in Cusco. We had the chance to collaborate in the Queña Raymi Project by planting trees for the community alongside 100 Cusco COAR students, 250 locals and 170 people from the Markham community who fundraised enough money to plant 10,000 trees.
It is our pleasure to announce that one of the three finalist groups in the Desafío de Emprendimiento Social HACIA Democracy 2019 is “Un hogar, un futuro”, by a group of 13 young Markham students. This challenge aims to develop young entrepreneurs with a strong civic commitment. The idea is to identify a problem inside of a community and propose an innovative and sustainable project to solve it. A great prize will be offered to the project that demonstrates extraordinary innovation, impact and sustainability.
