At Markham College, our Outdoor Education programme offers students a unique opportunity to complement their academic learning with the development of essential life skills. Through annual camps located in Peru’s stunning Andes, Amazon jungle, and national parks, students experience hands-on learning that fosters resilience, collaboration, and a deeper connection to nature.

As part of our leadership development initiative, senior students can take on mentoring roles during these trips. This allows them to further enhance their leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, all while being immersed in Peru’s rich cultural and environmental diversity.

Additionally, students aged 14 and older can participate in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. This prestigious programme builds on the outdoor skills developed at Markham, encouraging students to challenge themselves and grow in confidence.
