Cambridge IGCSE | Markham Assessed Portfolio (MAP) – S3 and S4
As students progress into S3 and S4, they enter a phase of self-discovery and academic growth through a dynamic hybrid curriculum that combines the globally recognised Cambridge IGCSE courses with our bespoke Markham Assessed Portfolio (MAP) courses, accredited by local universities.
MAP courses empower students to demonstrate their progress and mastery through a combination of oral presentations, final projects, continuous portfolio work, and school-based exams. This approach aligns with global educational trends and provides excellent preparation for the IBDP.
Our S3 and S4 students can choose up to 12 courses, allowing them to tailor their academic paths to their interests and future goals. This customised approach equips our students to meet the highest international standards while fostering a deep understanding of their chosen subjects, preparing them for the challenges of the IB Diploma Programme.
6th Form
Markham College offers the most comprehensive IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Peru, with 27 subjects available. The IBDP is a rigorous, globally recognised two-year programme that not only prepares students for university but also fosters their academic, personal, and social development. Students personalise their learning by selecting courses from a broad range of disciplines, building a strong knowledge base and relevant skills for their future studies and lifelong learning.
6th Form
Our National Programme is a rigorous one-year course designed primarily for students planning to continue their university studies in Peru. Taught mainly in Spanish, this programme focuses on essential topics covered in the first semester of university and prepares students for local university admissions.

Outdoor Education Programme
Markham offers a progressive and coherent opportunity for our students to consolidate academic learning as well as developing many of their life skills with yearly camps, which take place in the Peruvians Andes, Amazon jungle and National Parks.
As part of our leadership programme, our senior students can also benefit from supporting others during the trips. Against a backdrop of cultural and environmental diversity they will have the opportunity to develop skills such as leadership, teamwork, and initiative.
Alongside the Outdoor Education Programme, students may choose to be involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, in which students 14 years and older continue to use and build upon the valuable skills they have been taught.
Other learning opportunities beyond the classroom include travelling worldwide for Round Square conferences and student exchanges. Another key outdoor education component is Service Learning, which involves students actively participating and developing leadership skills in social service projects such as the Markham Building Project, Fog Catchers, Operación Sonrisa and more.
