Graduate receives Rising Star Award

We are pleased to announce one of our own Old Markhamians, Fernando Tamayo Grados (graduated in 2005), has received a Rising Star for Young Alumni Award from the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Melbourne. This award recognises his emerging leadership in Peru and Latin America promoting sustainable development through social enterprise.

Fernando is the founder and CEO of YAQUA, the first social enterprise in Peru that transfers 100% of its profits towards implementing sustainable solutions to the water crisis we are facing. Selected from a community of over 57,000 alumni worldwide, Fernando exemplifies Markham College's commitment to educate leaders who actively contribute towards the betterment of their communities.
