Students achieve Top in the World awards from Cambridge University

cambridge assesmentTwo students from Markham College have won prestigious awards from Cambridge University Assessment International Education in recognition of their exceptional results in the November 2017 Cambridge examination session.

Cambridge Top in the World awards are given to students who achieve the highest mark in the world in an IGCSE subject.

Philippe Chabaneix Ferrand received Top in the World awards for four Cambridge IGCSE subjects: Additional Maths, First Language Spanish, Spanish Literature and History, and Lucienne Marie Saux Falcone received the Top in the World Award for IGCSE Food and Nutrition.

These awards reflect the hard work of both the students and the staff at the school and we are very proud that Philippe and Lucienne have had their efforts recognised in this way.

S4 students at Markham enter an average of over 10 IGCSE courses every year and 2017 was a particularly successful year. Philippe, in particular, achieved the joint-best results in the history of Markham, with eleven A* grades (including an A* grade in the tough Additional Maths examination).

Both students will receive their certificates at Commendations Assembly at the end of this bimester.
