Visit to the Science Museum
We depart our hotel after
breakfast with a packed lunch and visit the Science Museum to enter a
world of discovery and achievement. This
is a land alive with `hows' and `whys' where you can see, touch, feel and
experience the major scientific advances of the last three hundred years. The collections form an enduring record of scientific, technological and medical change since the eighteenth century. Though rich in British material, they result from worldwide acquisition. Vigorous collecting keeps them up-to-date. |

Shopping in Central London
We will spend the rest of the
afternoon shopping in London. This
is a good opportunity to buy any last minute souvenirs or presents. Oxford
Street has one of the highest concentrations of large shops in the world.
More than 300 shops sell thousands of lines of goods from inexpensive
gifts to haute couture.
The most famous shops include Debenhams, D H Evans, John Lewis, Selfridges, and flagship branches of BHS, Marks & Spencer and the Burton/Top Shop group. They are primarily located on the north side of the west of Oxford Street. The HMV record and multimedia store at 363 Oxford Street is the oldest record shop in the world. |
