Day 14 – Friday, 2nd August

08.30          Bangor to Warwick

We depart our hostel after breakfast with a packed lunch and all our luggage and transfer to The Honiley Court Hotel in Warwick.

 

14.00           Warwick Castle

The Castle stands beside the River Avon on the site of a Noman motte and bailey and possibly a Saxon stronghold before that.  The mound is now incorporated into the

elegant grounds landscaped by Capability Brown in the 1750.s.  The curtain walls and gatehouse are 14C, The Bear Tower and Clarence Tower date from the 15C.  The castle was begun by Thomas de Beauchamp, 11th Earl of Warwick (1329 - 69) and was also the residence of Richard (1382 - 1439) the 13th Earl, who executed Joan of Arc.

 

17.00          Continue on to The Honiley Court Hotel for Evening Meal and Activities.
