Primary 4 – Chosica (El Bosque Country Club), approximately 1 hour from Lima (3 days).

For many students, this is their first extended period away from family and home. Students are accompanied by teachers, older students and parent class delegates. Some activities include: problem-solving, team sports, archery, cooking, swimming, kite-making, t-shirt making, group work and completing their unit of enquiry.

Primary 5 - Paracas, approximately 3 hours south from Lima (3 days).

Paracas is a popular tourist destination due to its magnificent coastal scenery, abundance of wildlife and National Park. The students spend time in the National Park exploring the landscape and wildlife and visit ecological and historical museums. They also visit the offshore islands where they see a great diversity of bird life and a large population of inquisitive seals.

Primary 6 - Lunahuana, approximately 2.5 hours from Lima (4 days).

Students camp for 3 nights accompanied by teachers and student leaders in a beautiful area by a river and surrounded by mountains. The activities include: rafting, trekking, introductory climbing, orienteering, an Inca archeological visit, art and initiative activities and also a service and Environmental project alongside children from the local primary school. Students prepare and cook for themselves for 1 night, and start to develop outdoor camping skills.

Secondary 1 - Santa Eulalia, approximately 1 hour from Lima.

Teachers, Student leaders and Students camp in a large and secluded area. The campsite is surrounded by towering mountains and has an alpine stream running through the property. Students complete  an overnight walk in the foothills of the Andes (Huaripampa) . Students carry what they need for the walk and cook their dinner and breakfast on small stoves. They also participate in climbing, rapelling, Tirolesa and ropes course.  Another day is spent canyoning up the Songos canyon and riding on the natural water slides.  Students also visit the Kis Kas water park and carry out a number of intiative activities.  Finally all of the students participate in a service project and an environmental project involving the local community and primary school.

Secondary 2 - Huaraz, approximately 8 hours from Lima.

Huaraz is located in the heart of the Andes Mountains. From the hotel students  are surrounded by majestic snow capped peaks, many over 6000 metres. Again the tutors, some other teachers and senior student leaders accompany the students.  Students complete a challenging overnight walk and need to carry all of their provisions and cook dinner and breakfast on small stoves. Students also participate in rafting, Rock climbing and rapelling activities.  They also visit Yungay, the site of the 1970 earthquake which destroyed a village and claimed thousands of lives and then continue up the mountain and view the beautiful Llanganuca Lakes.  Finally all of the students visit the ‘Dos de Mayo’ school in Caraz, rebuilt from Markham fundraising after the 1970 disaster.  There they carry out a Service and Environmental activity with the primary students and sleep the last night in the classrooms.

Secondary 3 - Tambopata, located in the Amazon jungle, a plane, bus and boat ride away (5 days).

The students and accompanying tutors and Science teachers from the Upper School are lodged in an eco-lodge hotel in the middle of the Amazon jungle away from computers, cellular phones, and modern distractions, left to experience the majesty of the tropical forest. For all of our students, this is an unforgettable experience, and for some, life changing. Great emphasis on this trip is placed on preparing students for the Ecology part of the Science IGCSE examination they will take in Secondary 4. Some activities include: bird watching, boating down the Amazon River, climbing to the top of an observation tower in the heart of the jungle, a nightly expedition to hear the sounds of the jungle, and the ever popular insect and fauna expeditions.
