Technology Enhanced Learning
IT is an integral part of teaching and learning at Lower School. Each classroom in the Lower School has at least 3 multimedia computers linked to a wireless network.
There are also 3 computer laboratories, with 28 computers in each, where children attend weekly IT classes that help to integrate the work they are doing in other subjects while developing their ICT skills. Additionally, classroom teachers are able to book computer laboratories for research, skills practice and publishing. Children use carefully selected educational software at the appropriate age levels to complement their learning in all areas of the curriculum.
There are currently seven Smart boards (interactive whiteboards) in use in the Lower School; research has shown that interactive whiteboard use increases student motivation and facilitates student participation in the teaching and learning process by providing additional opportunities for discussion and interaction. The number of smartboards will be increased each.
A variety of IT activities are also offered as part of the Activities Programme.
