WHAT IS THE PRINCE ALEXANDER PROJECT FUND? |
The Prince Alexander Project Fund (PAPF) is the name given to the vehicle to promote a collection of money to support Round Square International Service (RSIS) projects. The fund was originally started by Prince Alexander of Schleswig Holstein to encourage students to become involved in the support of service projects. Member schools are encouraged to have their students raise at least the price of one cup of coffee per student per year as a contribution to the PAPF. Traditionally, the money raised for the PAPF by students in schools goes directly towards the "bricks and mortar" of any RSIS project. Such projects in India, Africa, and SE Asia include the sinking of wells and the installation of fresh water supplies to remote villages, the building or restoration of schools or community centres, and the building of homes for impoverished families that have none. It is hoped that in 2007, Peru will begin to benefit directly from this fund as we establish an annual RSIS project. |
