COST

The exchange programme is a non-profit, quid pro quo venture. In principal, Markham College does not charge fees to visiting RS exchange students, as they continue to pay fees at their home school. We do reserve the right to pass on the cost of extra visits, activities and/or courses that the visiting student chooses to engage in. This may be deducted from an emergency deposit that the visiting student is requested to pay in to our accounts department on arrival.

ACCOMMODATION

Markham College is a day school, so its families host all visiting exchange students. Visiting students are cared for by the host family, who cover all board and lodging costs. In the event of an expensive outing or trip, the host may ask for a financial contribution. This will be discussed beforehand so that arrangements can be made.

In exceptional circumstances, and more likely for GAP exchange students, accommodation may be provided with families of teachers, or in one of the self-contained flats owned and maintained by Markham College directly opposite the school's main entrance. This accommodation is watched over by the school's security guards, and students housed there will be supervised by a senior Markham teacher.
