INTERNATIONALISM

Markham is an international school. We speak Castellano (Spanish) and English, and study a third European language (French). A good number of our auxiliary staff speak the other official language of Peru – Quechua. We have students and staff of many nationalities from Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, Eire, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Romania, Czech Republic, Syria, Lebanon… and that's just Upper School! We thrive on our diversity and come to learn the value of tolerance and compassion.

We have had educational and sporting tours to England, Scotland, Wales, France, Spain, USA, Jamaica, Australia, and have been involved in making visits to and receiving visits from England, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, USA, Canada, France and South Africa, to name but a few. Some of our students have represented their country proudly in sporting competitions and cultural activities across the globe, even going on to compete in the Olympic Games!

Markham has ongoing links with other international schools in Lima: French, Swiss, Italian, German, and American. We have links to other schools in Latin America through our membership of the LAHC (Latin American Heads' Conference) and worldwide through HMC (Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference).

Markham is proud to have many of its graduates go on to study at universities all over the world. The Markham family is truly worldwide.
